ACTIVITIES
The Shuk
No visit to Jerusalem would be
complete without a visit to 'The Shuk'
-- the largest outdoor marketplace in
Israel that takes up an entire
neighborhood, running along a main
street and into side alleys.     Here
customers can bargain for almost
everything -- vegetables, fruits, fish,
meat, baked goods, spices, candy,
eggs, cheeses, household appliances
and more! The market has a variety of
colors , sounds and smells.
Following the tour of the Gates in the Great Hall, a tour guide will lead
visitors to the third floor classroom area for a visit to a model Shuk,
where visitors can try on native scarves and clothing, smell spices,
and see a variety of items they might encounter in the real Shuk in
Jerusalem.  This interactive display is part of the
Walk through
Jerusalem
experience.  Items are not actually for sale here!
